Little Fascist Panties: Chatted with my first boyfriend earlier today and had an odd question... → endlessbabe.tumblr.com

endlessbabe:

Chatted with my first boyfriend earlier today and had an odd question to ask him. We’re still friends, so the fact that we were communicating wasn’t odd. Perhaps my query was.

I wanted to know if he remembered what song was playing when we lost our virginity to each other.

He recalled what…

A Modern Sexual-Assault Tale
  • Man: Hello, I'd like to report a mugging.
  • Officer: A mugging, eh? Where did it take place?
  • Man: I was walking by 21st and Dundritch Street and a man pulled out a gun and said, "Give me all your money."
  • Officer: And did you?
  • Man: Yes, I co-operated.
  • Officer: So you willingly gave the man your money without fighting back, calling for help or trying to escape?
  • Man: Well, yes, but I was terrified. I thought he was going to kill me!
  • Officer: Mmm. But you did co-operate with him. And I've been informed that you're quite a philanthropist, too.
  • Man: I give to charity, yes.
  • Officer: So you like to give money away. You make a habit of giving money away.
  • Man: What does that have to do with this situation?
  • Officer: You knowingly walked down Dundritch Street in your suit when everyone knows you like to give away money, and then you didn't fight back. It sounds like you gave money to someone, but now you're having after-donation regret. Tell me, do you really want to ruin his life because of your mistake?
  • Man: This is ridiculous!
  • Officer: This is a rape analogy. This is what women face every single day when they try to bring their rapists to justice.
  • Man: Fuck the patriarchy.
  • Officer: Word.

Badass of the Week: Nikola Tesla → badassoftheweek.com

robotalchemy:

” The Croatian-born engineer spoke eight languages, almost single-handedly developed technology that harnessed the power of electricity for household use, and invented things like electrical generators, FM radio, remote control, robots, spark plugs, fluorescent lights, and giant-ass machines that shoot enormous, brain-frying lightning bolts all over the place like crazy.  He had an unyielding, steel-trap photographic memory and an insane ability to visualize even the most complex pieces of machinery – the guy did advanced calculus and physics equations in his damn head, memorized entire books at a time, and successfully pulled off scientific experiments that modern-day technology STILL can’t replicate.”

Taking a moment to appreciate an oft-overlooked innovator.

My memory is getting in the way of your history.: There's nothing radical in being an angry, conservative, white man. → sunekdokhe.tumblr.com

downlo:

It is not transgressive to suggest that minorities are freeloaders who don’t deserve the opportunities they get.

You are not rocking the boat by stating that feminists are man-haters.

It is not an unpopular opinion to think that there’s only one, ‘rational’ way to conduct discourse.

There is nothing revolutionary about defending the rights of men, white people, heterosexuals, and U.S. citizens.

You are not in a minority if you are skeptical of feminism, critical theory, or post-colonial theory.

It is not subversive to reject progressive definitions of things like privilege and power.

Your way of thinking is not new, nor is it particularly interesting. Get the fuck over yourselves.
